Today is a Wednesday, therefore it’s the most manic day of the week when we rush around W1 delivering healthy salads to people’s desks by 1pm. We’re also doing some jam jar salads and cakes for Alice Temperley’s clients.
On the menu this week is:
MEXICAN CHOPPED SALAD
LENTILICIOUS
SWEET POTATO SOUP WITH CHILLI & LIME
BACON, SUNBLUSH TOMATO & CHEDDAR BAGUETTES
SALTED CARAMEL BANANA TRIFLES
· 5.30am alarm goes off – why
doesn’t it ever get easier?! Think I had
one too many aperol spritzers last night at Polpo opening. Chuck on the first comfy clothes I can see,
usually look like a farmer in the kitchen.
·
6.30am – arrive at our
commercial kitchen in Acton having been via Sally Clarke bakery to collect
bread. Already running out of time!
· No time for breakfast – try and fail to resist one of our Ginger and rosewater cupcakes for Alice Temperley that I’m icing.
· 8am – lovely Hannah arrives to help - sandwiches, soups, trifles and cakes all done.
· 11am – on schedule, on the
road, all clear with 1st drop off at Jo Malone.
· 11.30am DISASTER STRIKES. The Queen’s opening parliament today (cheers Maam) and central London is gridlocked. I’m at a standstill on Baker St for 45mins. Meltdown ensues. Bump car into mixer whilst instagramming in traffic. Don’t try that at home.
· 12.30pm Conde Nast, Temperley, Floreat, Comac, Chanel all delivered.
· 1pm - Miraculously manage to finish deliveries on time and congratulate myself on packing an extra Mexican salad for my lunch
· 2pm - emergency make up in traffic lights – off to the Telegraph for an interview, nervous!
· 3 -5pm TRAFFIC TRAFFIC TRAFFIC 2 HOURS BACK TO THE KITCHEN urghhhh
· 5pm – 7pm Bake, ice, prep the Temperley lunch for the next day
· 7pm Back in the car for a client meeting in Notting Hill. Smiles beginning to fade now.
· 9.30pm Home, bath, dressing gown, catch up on emails, TV. Cooking supper is out of the question clearly so grab some cheese, a bowl of cereal and more importantly WINE.
· 11pm BED!
Lots of love

Roses top 3 things in life:
Drinking
a cold glass of white wine &
eating buffalo mozzarella whilst reclining in
the hot sunshine! (does that count as 3?)
