A DAY IN THE LIFE OF LITTLE MISS HONEY
In most days, I wish one day consists of more minutes than 1,440
minutes. It takes a lot of scheduling, multi-tasking and prayers to get through
a day.
As my phone alarm beeps at a strike of 6:00 AM, the room is still
dark and the moon’s silhouette is still faintly visible from the horizon, I
step my bare feet on our wooden floor ready to start my day. I say a little
prayer of morning offering. After a quick warm shower, I would wear my work
clothes in hurry and head to the kitchen
to boil water. I often drink warm water with squeezed lemon juice first thing
in the morning to detox, acidify my system and hopefully help with weightloss
& clear skin. I would quickly put on my makeup, hoping not to wake my 8-month
old baby. He is now in his “I-want-only-mommy” stage. He would cry and shout if
I would be out of his sight. This often makes me late for work but I can never
refuse my little one for a hug. His adorable cry of plea often would make me
want to crawl back in bed with him & my husband and sleep again. Once I had
pacifed him temporarily, I would kiss my two handsome men and head to work.
I have a few minutes walk and
three-bus stop away from the clinic I am working as medical doctor. I
would use the walking time to check the blogs I follow in Bloglovin app.
Once in my clinic, I start my work by pouring my hot water I brought
(which is still very hot) from my trusty raspberry-colored Klean Kanteen
Insulated container to a ready mug on my desk. I would pour next the content of
a 3-in-1 coffee sachet in to the mug. With caffeine in my veins, I am ready to
start my busy day.
Lunch is one hour by 1PM either used to grab a quick ‘tapao’ lunch
at a nearby hawker center or keepin lunch all together for some need-to-be done
papers works or attending lunch lectures. Then back to work
at 2PM until 5PM. After work, I would either drop by the nearby grocery store
for needed ingredients for dinner. Walking back home, I would either edit
photos for my blog or write in text for my next blog posts or answer
emails. When I get home, I would have
some bonding time with my little one. Then I would make some last-minute
proofreading of my blog post scheduled to be posted for that day then I would
hit PUBLISH. I would share it all across my social media accounts.
After that was done, I would try to squeeze ina 30minutes cardio
work-out or yoga. Then it is time to cook for dinner while my baby is walking
around his stroller in the kitchen. By 9:30PM, my hubby would arrived from work
and we could chat for awhile of our days before we have our dinner. I would
bathe my baby by 10:30 PM and put him to sleep. I would prepare my stuff for
the next day and make my to-do list for the next day.
It can be challenging to be a doctor, a blogger, a mom, a wife in
fast-paced city like Singapore. But we try to do what we can with a
little help, prayers and a good planner notebook.
For more exciting things that I do when I am not on my daily grind,
head on to my blog, www.littlemisshoney.com.
I promise you, I do exciting things too.
Lots of love

About Lulabelle Lifestyle
We caught up with blogger, Lucy from Lulabelle Lifestyle for un update!
I created LL as an outlet for my writing and photography passions and a way of providing useful and insightful information on what its really like living in Singapore. As an expat I also wanted to document my time here and this blog has ended up inspiring me to get out and explore every inch of Singapore.
Lulabelle Lifestyle will be 1 year old in January and I am very excited to celebrate this first landmark anniversary with my readers, look out for lots of fun things that I have planned.
What inspires you, and how do you constantly come up with new things to write about?
I am inspired by everything around me; whether it’s conversations with my loved ones or exciting new events or topics that I discover. I love finding new fashions, restaurants, recipes or shops to inform my readers about.
What has been your favourite thing to write about?
A tricky question as I try and only write about things that I feel passionate about. However, if you twist my arm then I would have to say writing book recommendations and Travel posts on where to go and what to see have got to be my favourites.
What is the best thing about working on Lulabelle lifestyle?
Ah that is a difficult question as there are so many things I love about working on the blog. I love the writing, photography, design and the exploration of a new culture.
What has surprised me
most is how easily it is to adapt to life here in Singapore. It truly is an
amazing place to live with such a diverse offering of food, the ability to
travel to so many exotic places in the space of an hour or so and the endless
summer of sunshine!
What do you usually wear day to day when you are out and about working on new stories/blogs?
This question made me laugh as I have very diverse uniforms. I have a uniform for the house and one for the outside world! When I am writing I work from home and comfort is key so I usually wear yoga pants and an over sized t-shirt, however I never leave the house without dressing up. When I am out and about you can find me in one of my many coloured cotton dresses, havianas and sunnies and my favourite Kate Spade bag.
I love to cook and I find it very relaxing so depending on what I’m making I usually start cooking up to an hour before my boyfriend gets home so by the time he gets in the music is on, the food is cooking and I am winding down from some intense blogging! Although, I have to confess that I am still snapping away to add my latest recipe to the blog.
Where is your next big holiday and what have you got planned?
2015 is ticking off no.1 on my travel wishlist as I am spending 10 days exploring Japan in April to see the Sakura and eat an obscene amount of sushi! To say I am excited is an understatement!
Lots of love

Meet Daisy from behind Tobias shirts....
How did Tobias come about… when
did you launch and get the idea from:
When I was living in Bombay, I was drawn to all the amazing colours and prints of India and I had an idea that I wanted to combine that passion with an effort to help India’s under-privileged children, as I was also working as a volunteer teacher at a local school. The idea of the shirts came about when I started sewing fabric off-cuts onto my boyfriend’s cuffs to make them look more interesting and it just went from there. I am so happy that a few years on the brand still epitomises the reason that it started. Now that I am living in London again each time I go back to visit Mumbai I can see how donations from the shirts really are making a difference.
Share the day and life of Tobias with us...what time do you normally wake up?
My day usually starts around 6.45am.
Where do you go to work, where is Tobias based?
I am lucky enough to have an office at home so my commute is pretty easy! I always start work with a coffee and reading an email from Akanksha (the charity Tobias supports) giving me an update on how term is going and how everyone is getting on at school.
Who do you most speak to during the day?
Toby (my husband) he is my go to on any decision making and has a strong involvement in the shirt, and not to mention the namesake.
When do you have downtime and how do you relax at the end of the day?
I usually go and visit my mum and sister at home for a cup of tea or I have a yoga lesson with Zoe Warren, an old friend and brilliant instructor, at her studio.
What fun future plans have Tobias got up their sleeves!?
So many different ideas I am trying not to do them all at once. I’ve got really beautiful new prints coming as well as some great new shirt designs, which should be out early next year.
How often are you doing new designs?
I am always thinking about it – picking up different prints and patterns from anything and everything I see. Travelling has been a big influence on the designs, also inspiration from friends - I love hearing their likes and dislikes. I find since boys have less choice of what to wear, they tend to have more of an opinion.
Who would your ideal customer/ celebrity to be seen in Tobias?
Someone who likes a tailored look without being too serious. I don’t know which celebrity that would be – ideally Johnny Depp!
Where can we see the collection?
Online at www.tobiasclothing.com
Lots of love
